The Realme GT5 will be available on August 28 and the business today unveiled its design. It will include three cameras and an LED light on the back, but unlike previous generations, this time the island extends from side to side, as Google has done with its Pixel phones.
A SuperVOOC S power management chip and a 5,240 mAh battery with 240W rapid charging were also hinted to in the teasers.
We were reminded of the Realme GT3 by the camera island’s design, which had two circles for the cameras. The LED rectangle, however, is now vertical, lacks tacky writing, and just displays the relatively important features “Snapdragon 8 Gen 2”, “SuperVOOC”, and “NFC”.
The new design, according to Realme CEO Wu Qi Chase, is made possible by “breakthrough glass technology in the mobile industry” and will be the best-looking smartphone in the company’s history. The “Flowing Silver Mirror” (machine translated) title of the hero colour refers to the process of “hot forging glass curving” for utmost elegance.
A dedicated display chip will also be included in the smartphone for improved visual performance and a higher refresh rate. It will offer a 24 GB RAM + 1 TB storage option and serve as a warm-up for the Realme GT5 Pro, which Qualcomm’s third-generation Snapdragon 8 CPU is scheduled to power later this year.
