Realme has promised to include 240W fast charging capabilities with its next flagship devices this year, and the GT Neo 5 will be the company’s first device to do so. Realme GT Neo 3 and 150W rapid charging were introduced by the firm in 2022. According to reports, the phone is powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. Realme GT Neo 5 will be released in February, according to the Chinese maker, even though there isn’t a precise launch date yet.

The Realme GT Neo 5 will be the brand’s first phone to use the quickest 240W charging technology, the Chinese maker stated via its official Weibo page. The phone is expected to arrive in February, it added. 13 internal temperature sensors, PS3 fire prevention, and a full-link safety monitoring system are all included in the Realme GT Neo 5’s feature set. The company stated in a news release that it will also include a 6580mm2 heat dissipation area.

The 240W dual GaN small charging adaptor will be used by Realme’s next fastest charging technology, according to the company, to achieve the maximum power density of 2.34W/CC. It will have a 98.7% super-high power conversion rate and a low-voltage charging method. Along with that, the business will also release a 12A charging cable featuring 21AWG thicker copper wires and a single USB-C interface.

Using a three-way 100W charge pump parallel design with a 20V 12A input and 10V 24A output, the business revealed that the charging conversion efficiency is 98.5 percent. Additionally, 240W is said to have no impact on battery life as studies revealed that it was still above 80% even after 1,600, 0-100% full charging cycles. Realme claimed that after 21 days of testing, it showed no signs of safety failure in an environment with a high humidity of 85% and a temperature of 85°C.

A prior rumour said that the phone will come in two variations, one with a 5,000mAh battery and support for 150W fast charging and the other with a 4,600mAh battery and compatibility for 240W fast charging. A 6.7-inch 1.5K OLED screen with a 144Hz refresh rate and 2,169Hz pulse width modulation (PWM) dimming is also said to be included in the phone. It is rumoured to be powered by a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC.
