The IMEI website reportedly contains a picture of the Redmi Note 12 4G. The device may debut as a renamed version of the Redmi Note 10 Pro, according to earlier sources. Xiaomi, a Chinese smartphone maker, may soon release the Redmi Note 12 4G both internationally and in India. As the phone debuted on Thailand’s National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) website with the same model number as the Redmi Note 11 Pro, there were prior hints that the Redmi Note 12 Pro 4G would be released (2023).
The Redmi Note 12 4G model was reportedly detected on the IMEI database, according to a Xiaomiui claim (via). A low-cost smartphone from the Redmi Note family is anticipated. According to reports, it was discovered using the codename “Tapas,” which is exclusive to its Indian variation.
“The IMEI Database contained 3 models that we found. The Redmi Note 12 4G will be available in two models. For the international and Indian markets, respectively, are the model numbers 23021RAAEG and 23028RA60L. These models won’t have NFC. Tapas is the codename for it. When we look closer at the name Tapas, we find that it is an Indian-only term. This reaffirms the Xiaomiui report’s claim that the codename “tapas” will be used for the non-NFC version.
According to the research, the model number 23021RAA2Y is exclusively offered on the global market. This variation, allegedly under the codename “Topaz,” will have NFC functionality. The Redmi Note 12 4G will ship with MIUI 14, an Android 13-based operating system. The phone will reportedly include 64GB of internal storage and at least 4GB of RAM. 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage will probably be offered as the top storage option.
The Redmi Note 12 4G was supposed to debut as a rebranded version of the Redmi Note 10 Pro, according to a prior report. The global model of the Redmi Note 10 Pro carried the codename “sweet global,” whereas the Redmi Note 12 Pro 4G was discovered on the IMEI database with the codename “sweet k6a global.” According to the same claim, Xiaomi had originally intended to release the device with the codename “sweet k6a global” as the Redmi Note 11 Pro (2023).
In December 2022, Redmi Note 12 Pro 4G also made an appearance on the NBTC website with the same model number as Redmi Note 11 Pro (2023). The Redmi Note 12 4G launch information has not yet received official confirmation.
