The Vivo X90 series of smartphones, which the Chinese smartphone maker debuted on November 22, 2022, is said to be coming to the international market on January 31, 2023. The Vivo X90 series consists of the standard Vivo X90, the high-end Vivo X90 Pro+, and Vivo X90 Pro. The recent rumour, however, indicates that the Vivo X90 Pro+ may not be released internationally.

A report from Newzonly and tipster Parag Guglani (@passionategeekz) suggests that Vivo’s flagship X90 series might arrive in Malaysia on January 31 and thereafter reach markets worldwide. The tipster revealed purported marketing photographs of the launch of the flagship smartphone series in Malaysia on Twitter.

However, the claimed marketing photographs that were leaked ahead of the debut in Malaysia do not appear to show the introduction of the Vivo X90 Pro+ model. This might be a sign that Vivo won’t be releasing the top model from its flagship series in the international market. As the only red-colored model in the series, the Vivo X90 Pro+ was introduced in China.

The report states that the vanilla Vivo X90 is set to start for RM 3,699 (about Rs. 69,000) in Malaysia. The Vivo X90 Pro might be available in Malaysia for RM 5,299, or around Rs. 99,000.

The single storage configuration for both devices is anticipated to be 12GB RAM and 256GB of internal storage. Breeze Blue and Asteroid Black are the two expected colour options for the standard Vivo X90. However, Legendary Black is the only colour in which the Vivo X90 Pro+ is anticipated to be available internationally.

According to the source, pre-orders for both smartphones will be accepted starting on January 31, 2023, while official sales of both devices are anticipated to begin on February 2.

Vivo X90 & Vivo X90 Pro specifications

The worldwide editions of the Vivo X90 and Vivo X90 Pro are anticipated to have identical features to those of the Chinese versions that were introduced last year.

Both smartphones are anticipated to go on sale in every country with a triple-camera configuration on the back that was created in collaboration with Zeiss. A 120W charger that is included in the box, a curved display with a hole-punch cutout at the top centre to house the selfie camera, and a specialised V2 processor for image processing and AI acceleration are other characteristics that are prevalent.

A 4,810mAh battery is anticipated in the Vivo X90, which the manufacturer says can be charged 50% in just 8 minutes. The handsets’ 6.78-inch full-HD+ AMOLED panels, which have a resolution of 1260 x 2800 pixels, are anticipated to have a peak brightness of 1300 nits and support a refresh rate of 120 Hz.

The standard Vivo X90 might include three cameras: a 12-megapixel ultra-wide sensor, a 50-megapixel main sensor, and a 12-megapixel portrait sensor. On the other hand, the Vivo X90 Pro model is anticipated to go on sale with a 50-megapixel primary camera, a 12-megapixel telephoto lens, and a second 50-megapixel ultra-wide sensor. Both are anticipated to include a 32-megapixel camera on the front. Both devices should run the most recent Funtouch OS 13, which is based on Android 13.

The only device in the lineup to be released in China with Qualcomm’s newest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC was the Vivo X90 Pro+ variant. The Mediatek Dimensity 9200 SoC is anticipated to power both the worldwide models of the Vivo X90 and the Vivo X90 Pro. It is significant to remember that Vivo has not yet officially confirmed the debut of the X90 series in Malaysia or any other international market.
