And we’ve started a section for specialty dairy-free foods produced in this state.

Alma
- The Octopus Garden Cafe – They have a vegan burrito bowl on their menu, but are also friendly toward dairy-free guests. They have sandwich options and some other dishes. Their staff can also accommodate gluten-free needs.
Bathurst
- Singing Nomad & Sūrya Café – They offer dairy-free milks and typically have a vegan pastry and food option at this local cafe.
- Pür & Simple – Their menu isn’t super simple for dairy-free guests, but they offer a couple of toast breakfast options and their allergen guide makes custom ordering a little easier.
Bouctouche

Dieppe
- Crèmerie Amiro Dairy Bar – They scoop vegan sorbet in creamy flavors like peanut butter & jam, chocolate, or coconut.
- La Diperie – You’ll have to resist many of their desserts, but you’ll be rewarded with their edible vegan cookie dough. It’s available in four flavours. They often have at least one vegan soft serve flavour and a couple other cool dairy-free treats, too.
- Mansu BBQ – This very popular restaurant serves Korean dishes and sushi. Much of their menu is naturally dairy-free, but they’re friendly toward special diet guests in general, and have gluten-free options clearly labeled, along with a few vegan options.
- Mimziz Macaron – This is a gluten-free bakery, and they use a lot of dairy. But they do have some dairy-free and vegan cream pies, and also take custom orders.

- Pür & Simple – Their menu isn’t super simple for dairy-free guests, but they offer a couple of toast breakfast options and their allergen guide makes custom ordering a little easier.
- Quesada – They offer a great allergen and special diet filter online to help plan your order. This is a build-your-own burrito, burrito bowl, or taco spot. At last check, their meats and meat alternatives were dairy free (the fish items contain dairy), as were both types of beans, rice, and all toppings, except cheese and sour cream. All of their salsas, guacamole, and most of their sauces are also dairy-free, and they even have a special vegan sauce.
- St. Louis Bar & Grill – Enjoy custom order salads and bar bites, including their famous wings with a large selection of sauces. Their allergen menu is well detailed and helpful for custom ordering.
Edmundston
- Pür & Simple – Their menu isn’t super simple for dairy-free guests, but they offer a couple of toast breakfast options and their allergen guide makes custom ordering a little easier.
Fredericton
- Byblos Restaurant & Bar – Their Lebanese menu is clearly labeled for vegan (and gluten-free) options and they offer several additional dairy-free items. Julie, a Fredericton resident, let us know this restaurant is her favorite for dairy free needs. “They have a beef Shawarma wrap that has this tahihi sauce… oh yes. I always make sure to note on my order that I can’t have dairy/cross contam dairy.”
- Caribbean Flavas – Most of the menu at this halal restaurant is or can be ordered dairy-free, and they also have vegan options for almost everything. They serve kebabs, jerk dishes, curries, and burgers.
- Chef Rick Meals to Go – This is a collaboration, where you can often find dairy-free foods from a handful of local companies.
- Cinnamon Cafe – This is a vegetarian Persian restaurant, but all of their entrees were dairy-free (at last check) and most were vegan. They also offer some vegan desserts, and have gluten-free options.
- Corn Crib – This is a local natural food and health store that carries a good selection of local foods with dairy-free, vegan, and other special diet options.
- Decadence Fine Baked Goods – This is a local gluten-free bakery that also offers a few vegan treats. Some items can be custom ordered dairy-free.
- Gahan House – We’re not sure if they still update their dairy-free menu, but this pub continues to be known for great dairy-free options. At last check, they had burgers, fish and chips, and several other seafood dishes, but of course, check on their latest options. They also have many options for gluten-free guests.
- Isaac’s Way Restaurant – They offer several vegan dishes nightly, like squash wellington, stuffed portobellos, and two types of burgers. Additional menu items can be ordered dairy free.
- J’s Asian Kitchen – Thanks to Julie (a dairy-free local) for recommending this restaurant. Their menu is primarily Japanese, with sushi and various hot dishes.
- Mezza Lebanese Kitchen – They have a detailed allergen chart with many dairy-free options, including some wraps, plates, salads, and bowls. Most of their sides are made without dairy.
- Naru Sushi Japanese Restaurant – Thank you to Julie, who recommended this as one of her favorite restaurants to eat at. They offer all of the classics and have some unique options, like sushi pizzas.

- Saffron Indian Foods – This is a local food vendor that boldly offers vegan menu items and proudly caters to dairy-free, nut-free, and gluten-free guests, too.
- St. Louis Bar & Grill – Enjoy custom order salads and bar bites, including their famous wings with a large selection of sauces. Their allergen menu is well detailed and helpful for custom ordering.
- The Abbey Café & Gallery – Enjoy local art and vegan eats at this casual cafe. They make burritos, paninis, hot and cold bowls, and have a short morning window when you can enjoy their breakfast menu.
- The Happy Baker – They offer dairy-free breads and dairy-free, gluten-free breads. They have two soups daily, and one or both is typically dairy-free, plus you can order toasts and sandwiches without dairy.
- The Midsea – Enjoy Lebanese food, with everything from shawarmas to kabobs and falafels. They also offer gluten free and vegan options.
- The Tipsy Muse Café ⭐️ – They offer vegan Montreal-style bagels with whipped dairy-free butter and six difference vegan cream cheese options (one Daiya, but the rest from local Scottage Cheeze). They also have dairy-free optional and vegan bagel sandwiches, a whole range of vegan pastries, and vegan cake by the slice.
- Williams Seafood – According to Angela, this restaurant has dairy-free fish and chips and tartar sauce.
Grand Manan
- Goji’s Neighborhood Treatery – This is an ice cream and froyo shop with rotating options for dairy-free soft serve. They have creamy flavors made with almond milk or coconut milk, and offer dairy-free Dole Whip flavors.
Hillsborough
- Oliver’s German Bakery – Most of their freshly baked breads are dairy-free and vegan-friendly.
Miramichi

- Beavertails – These artisanal Canadian pastries are made with whole wheat flour, hand-stretched, and fried. They can be ordered dairy-free and vegan on request.
- Calactus ⭐️ – This is a vegetarian restaurant, but everything on their menu can be ordered vegan. They have a very eclectic array of casual dishes.
- Classic Burger – According to the company, their potato, pretzel, brioche, and gluten free buns are all airy free! So you can custom order many of their burgers without cheese. Or you can simply build your own burger. They offer several patty options, including a vegan one. They often have a vegan and dairy-free dessert, too.
- CoPain Artisan Bread Company – Most of the breads at this local bakery and dairy-free and many are also vegan.
- Corn Crib – This is a local natural food and health store that carries a good selection of local foods with dairy-free, vegan, and other special diet options.
- Dolma Food – This grocery store focuses on locally-sourced fresh foods and products. They often have some dairy-free surprises and are great for sourcing local ingredients.
- Gahan House – We’re not sure if they still update their dairy-free menu, but this pub continues to be known for great dairy-free options. At last check, they had burgers, fish and chips, and several other seafood dishes, but of course, check on their latest options. They also have many options for gluten-free guests.

- Guacamole Mexican Street Food – This is a local build your own burrito, burrito bowl, tacos, nachos, or salad spot. They have vegan tofu, dairy-free meats, and a good selection of toppings. They also serve vegan chili.
- Gusto Italian Grill & Bar – Their menu is quite dairy heavy, but they are friendly toward dairy-free and gluten-free guests. A few dishes can be custom ordered without cheese or cream, and they have a gluten-free, dairy-free chocolate torta on the dessert menu.
- Halo Donuts – They offer three to four different flavours of vegan donuts, and usually change their selection every couple of days.
- Kelsey’s Original Roadhouse – Skip the appetizers and jump straight to the wings, burgers, and fish and chips. They have several menu and custom options available in these categories, and also have dairy-free, gluten-free buns available.
- Lost & Found Ice Cream – They offer a couple dairy-free flavours daily, but the options do rotate. You might find creamy vanilla coconut, chocolate sorbet, or seasonal fruit sorbet.
- McSweeney’s Dinner Theatre ⭐️ – Their menu is labeled for dairy-free guests, and at last check, almost everything (aside from dessert) was listed as dairy-free! They also label gluten-free choices and typically have a vegan entree available (we saw enchiladas).
- Mezza Lebanese Kitchen – They have a detailed allergen chart with many dairy-free options, including some wraps, plates, salads, and bowls. Most of their sides are made without dairy.
- Milestones – This Canadian chain goes above and beyond with a complete ingredient and allergen guide for their massive, eclectic menu. They always have a good selection of dairy-free and vegan dishes, and the ingredient information makes custom ordering easier.

- Sophia & Spritz – This local restaurant went to the trouble of putting together a detailed allergen menu that even helps you custom order by telling you what component(s) of the dish contain the allergen. They also have a couple vegan menu options.
- St. Louis Bar & Grill – Enjoy custom order salads and bar bites, including their famous wings with a large selection of sauces. Their allergen menu is well detailed and helpful for custom ordering.
- The Carefree Cakery – They bake cakes for all occasions, and offer vegan flavours, including black forest, lemon drop, blueberry harvest, chocolate macaroon, and chocolate almond.
- Tide & Boar Gastropub – This pub turned brewery offers a vegan big mac, complete with dairy-free cheese. Consequently you can easily order a regular dairy-free burger, and they do have a couple other dairy-free options.

- Cranewood on Main – Thank you to Aloma for letting us know they offer “a selection of dairy free and vegan soups, as well as desserts/treats and all of their specialty coffees can be made dairy-free. I am not sure about their bread – definitely some DF options, though as I have eaten it without getting sick.”
Saint John

- Wok Box – This is a fresh Asian chain in Canada that is special diet friendly. They offer an allergen guide with their nutrition information, and naturally, most of their Asian menu is dairy-free. They also label which items can be made vegan and/or gluten-free.
Shediac
- Adorable Chocolat – They offer a small selection of vegan dark chocolate products at this local chocolatier.
- Goji’s Neighborhood Treatery – This is an ice cream and froyo shop with rotating options for dairy-free soft serve. They have creamy flavors made with almond milk or coconut milk, and offer dairy-free Dole Whip flavors.
- Le Moque-Tortue ⭐️ – This playful restaurant has an Alice in Wonderland theme, board games galore, and very fine food. They label their menu for options that are made without dairy or can be made without dairy, and it includes quite a few dishes. The same goes for gluten-free, and the staff is reportedly well trained with handling special diet requests. They also serve all types of drinks and have kombucha on tap.
