How the Chocolate Magic Happened
About five years ago, we were a bit perplexed when Dr. Bronner’s, America’s top-selling natural soap brand, started making chocolate bars. But David Bronner, their Cosmic Engagement Officer, explained how their sustainable mission made it such an easy crossover:
When we learned that many of the 800 farmers who supply our Regenerative Organic Certified Serendipalm project in Ghana also grew cocoa, it was a perfect opportunity to grow our partnership with fair trade farmers by developing these cocoa beans and other ingredients—all sourced to the highest standards possible—into a rich, delicious dark chocolate that elevates soil and community health, as well as quality of life for everyone in the supply chain.
Their creative chocolate bars have done so well, that Dr. Bronner’s decided to spin off the chocolate line and form a new company, Magic Chocolate Inc. It’s now owned by Joe Whinney and Swiss chocolate-makers Maestrani, Dr. Bronner’s original chocolate partners. They’ve transitioned the name of the bars from Dr. Bronner’s Magic All-One Chocolate to Magic Chocolate. But don’t worry, the simplification is only in name. They are continuing to expand this line of chocolate bars.
Magic Chocolate Truffle Bars Reviewed
The chocolatiers at Magic Chocolate blaze new trails with every product they create, and these Truffle Bars are no exception. The concept, taste, and melt-in-your-mouth texture really do capture the essence of truffles in a bar format. But I also love how they are individually wrapped as perfectly-portioned chocolate batons. We taste-tested each flavor, and each one was delicious. But here’s how we ranked them:
Creamy Raspberry Truffle Layer Bar
This individualistic flavor was tied for our favorite Truffle Bar. It has a wonderful sweet-tart, bold raspberry essence. It tastes like a very fresh raspberry white chocolate sandwiched between thin layers of dark chocolate. It’s well-balanced and intriguing.

What can I say, the layered bars won us over. This is the Salted Candied Hazelnut Truffle Bar layered with dark chocolate. It’s a complete, indulgent truffle experience in a fun bar format.

Classic Magic Chocolate Bars Reviewed
I’ve been buying their dark chocolate bars for years! We haven’t tried every flavor, but the ones we have had are impressive. They are sweetened solely with coconut sugar for a more sultry flavor than your average chocolate bar. They feel indulgent yet nourishing and satisfying in a different way. Thus far, our favorite is the Peppermint Creme, followed closely by the Smooth Coconut Praline and Salted Almond Butter. But here is the full line-up:

Leaving my own rating. These bars are a real treat. We’ve bought them often, and have never had one we didn’t like. I’ve turned a few friends on to them too. They’re unlike any other chocolate bar in the store. The truffle bars really do taste like truffles, and the classic bars have a creamy texture and sultry flavor. My husband can’t get enough of the Peppermint Creme.
Magic or not...
While I do think the word “magic” is overused lately, these bars do sound amazing! Sounds like they’re worth seeking out.

A perfect new Valentine's Day treat
I was so impressed with these dairy free Magic Chocolate truffle bars and couldn’t believe how creamy their consistency is. The raspberry was definitely a standout, as it wasn’t too sweet and the citrus was an unexpected surprise. I’ll definitely be enjoying these beyond Valentine’s Day, as they’re a great snack and a fun new Easter treat.
Pricing?
Online, the classic bars are $38.94 per six pack (I don’t see an option to buy a single bar of any flavor), which comes to $6.49 per bar rather than $5.99. There isn’t a store that carries them close to me, so I can’t say what they are sold for there. The truffle pricing is still what you have listed

It varies by flavor. The Dark Chocolate Sea Salt is $35.94 per 6-pack, which is $5.99 per bar. The Dark Chocolate with Hazelnuts is even cheaper, $32.95 per 6-pack, which is $5.49 per bar. In my local stores, they are all the same price. I’ll make a note on the variation.
