These dairy-free Earth Day smoothies are so much fun, you won’t even notice how healthy they are! Each serving is high in protein, fiber, and antioxidants, but remarkably low in sugar. And yes, this recipe does contain an infusion of greens! But don’t worry, they’re also rich in delicious chocolate flavor.

Eat Dirt Protein Shakes - superfood vegan smoothies with a fun presentation

This recipe was shared with us by Sarah of A Whisk and Two Wands. She no longer blogs, but this chocolaty recipe for her “eat dirt” vegan protein shakes lives on. Sarah said, “While we created this recipe to post for Earth Day it is a great recipe for Spring. Spring is when we plant our gardens and flower boxes and watch everything sprout and grow!”

We admit to cheating on the sweet side, using dark chocolate rather than cacao nibs in the shake and adding a few drops of vanilla stevia since we opted to make it on the icy side, but we are slight sugar fiends in this test kitchen.

*Can use vanilla as it will still be brown with greens and berries but not as dark. Vega Performance Protein can also be used, which ever fits your needs for the day.
