Mooove over Starbucks! Unlike their popular holiday beverage, ours is made without any milk ingredients. In addition, this dairy-free pumpkin spice frappuccino recipe is healthier and vegan-friendly. It can also be whipped up in your own kitchen for a fraction of the price!

Yes, You Can Have a Dairy-Free Pumpkin Spice Frappuccino!
I’m not sure what makes us crave cool beverages in fall and winter. Some of you live in warmer climates, but many of us simply find cold comfort in frosty treats year rounds. Whatever the reason, we blended this dairy-free pumpkin spice frappuccino so you don’t have to miss out on Starbucks seasonal favorite.
Why You’ll Love this Starbucks Alternative
- Perfect Consistency: It’s more slushy than smoothie, much like a frappuccino.
- Pumpkin Forward: This recipe isn’t shy with pumpkin. It has a nice balance of flavors and sweetness, with pumpkin taking center stage.
- No Dairy: Starbucks uses milk in their pumpkin sauce, but at home, you can make this coffee drink without dairy at all. In fact, you can make it without any concern for top allergens in your own “safe” blender.
- Budget-Friendly: You’ll save a bundle making your own fancy coffee drinks at home!
Ingredient Notes & Options
- Pumpkin Puree: If you’re feeling fancy, you can cook and puree your own sweet pumpkin. But we think Libby’s brand tastes delicious and is far easier!
- Dates: These sweeten, add flavor depth, lend a slightly thicker texture, and keep this drink refined sugar-free. If preferred, you can omit them and simply sweeten to taste with brown sugar or more maple sugar.
- Maple Syrup: The flavor adds richness and warm fall notes, and it pairs perfectly with pumpkin.
- Pumpkin Spice: There are now dozens of pumpkin spice brands available. But if you don’t have any, you can use individual spices. A good blend for this recipe is 1 1/8 teaspoons ground cinnamon, ¼ teaspoon ground ginger, ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg, 1/4 teaspoon ground allspice, and 1/8 teaspoon ground cloves. Feel free to adjust based on your preferences or the spices you have on hand.
- Coffee Ice Cubes: This is a great way to use up a leftover pot of coffee! They will take about 4 hours to freeze in a standard ice cube tray. You can always make a bunch ahead and pop them out into a freezer bag to have on hand any day.
- Milk Alternative: Megan uses coconut milk beverage, Sarah uses almond milk, and lately, I’ve been using soymilk. In other words, any type will do! If you don’t have a vanilla version, just use plain milk alternative and add 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla flavoring or extract.
- Dairy-Free Whip: I love homemade vegan whipped cream, but there are also a few dairy-free whipped topping brands you can buy! Whip is totally optional, but it does give your drink that coffeehouse vibe. Garnish the whip with a sprinkle of spice, crushed nuts, or dairy-free cookie crumbs if you’re feeling extra fancy.
