Did you know the “31 flavors” concept at Baskin Robbins was originally created to represent a different flavor for each day of the month. I think we deserve that same selection, so I created this collection of 31 dairy-free ice cream recipes. Just like BR, I have all the classics and some unique flavors, too!

31 Dairy-Free Ice Cream Recipes Worth Churning Out
Dairy-free is my primary goal, but all of these recipes just happen to be plant-based and gluten-free, too. They’re also vegan or vegan optional. And many are also top allergen-free – including egg-free, soy-free, and nut-free. Most of these flavors can also be enjoyed paleo if you use your paleo sweeteners of choice. They will alter the taste a bit, but should be equally fulfilling. If you need a keto treat, skip the fruity varieties and use your favorite low carb sugar alternative for sweetening.
Options for All! Because coconut milk is so luxurious, quite a few of these dairy-free ice cream recipes are coconut-based, but there are some naturally coconut-free options in the mix. And you can use my How to Substitute Coconut Milk guide to make any of these frozen desserts without coconut. And keep in mind, coconut can be an allergen, but coconut isn’t a tree nut.
No Ice Cream Maker? Perhaps you’ve been leaning on store-bought dairy-free ice cream because you don’t have an ice cream machine. It can make things easier, but as long as you have a blender and a freezer, you can make your own non-dairy ice cream. I have 4 methods in the following guide: How to Make Dairy-Free Ice Cream Without an Ice Cream Maker.
Dairy-Free Vanilla Ice Cream
This is the any day recipe you’ve been looking for. It can be made with your milk alternative of choice. That’s right, no coconut milk needed!

Classic Chocolate Ice Cream
We’re starting with the staples, so of course, chocolate is next on the list. You can’t go wrong with this classic dairy-free recipe that’s made with silken tofu. Trust us, it’s SO good. Do you need soy-free? Enjoy this Chocolate Cashew Ice Cream Recipe.

Strawberry Ice Cream
This delightful frozen dessert is infused with a generous amount of real strawberries to ensure the delicious fruity flavor comes through. But don’t worry, this isn’t a sorbet. It still has a delightfully creamy texture.
Cookies & Cream Ice Cream
This is one of my favorite dairy-free ice cream recipes and it’s so much easier than you might think. Did I mention it’s also coconut-free?!

Salted Caramel Ice Cream
Organic cane sugar, coconut milk, and sea salt are the only ingredients in this decadent vegan ice cream recipe.

Peanut Butter Ice Cream with Peanut Butter Chips
This peanut butter infused ice cream is the pinnacle of creaminess. It’s also spiked with rich, soft peanut butter chunks.

Horchata Ice Cream
This is actually a no churn recipe! It’s a creative, cinnamon-spiked blend that incorporates aquafaba!

Cheesecake Ice Cream
Yes, I went there. This is an incredibly luxurious treat that’s definitely worth it. It’s also one of the first dairy-free ice cream recipes that I created.

Sunbutter Fudge Ripple Ice Cream
It looks over-the-top indulgent, but this frozen dessert is sweetened with dates!

Lovely Lavender Ice Cream
There are just four ingredients in this summery, floral flavor.

Homemade Oat Milk Ice Cream
You asked for it, we whipped it up! This recipe is for oat milk fans. It includes a “plain” flavor and flavor options. This recipe isn’t vegan, but we do have a vegan suggestion in the post.
Chocolate Chip Ice Cream
This recipe plays on my classic vanilla recipe, which is soy-free, nut-free, AND coconut-free.

Bourbon Salted Pecan Ice Cream
This healthier ice cream has all types of flavor surprises, from bites of chocolate to the addition of warm spices.

Peanut Butter & Jelly Ice Cream
Brown sugar adds wonderful flavor depth to this comforting concoction.

Double Chocolate Cherry Chip Ice Cream
This out-of-this-world flavor offers a fun taste of vegan decadence. You can enjoy it in bowls, but we think it’s ice cream cone worthy.

Vanilla Bean Coconut Ice Cream
To help the vanilla shine through, this recipe uses both vanilla extract and the seeds from real vanilla bean.

Chocolate Fudgesicle Power Ice Cream
If you’re looking for a cool protein treat, then this dreamy ice cream should be on your list. I make it with almond milk and several healthy ingredients, but it includes a nut-free option.

Sweet Tea Ice Cream
The sweet coconut milk base is infused with dairy-free creamer and freshly brewed iced tea, with a squeeze of fresh lemon juice added.

Toasted Coconut Cold Brew Banana Frozen Yogurt
The ingredients beg to be enjoyed in the morning, but you might like this blend as an afternoon pick-me-up. And as long as you have frozen bananas on hand, you can enjoy it in an instant. The mixture doesn’t need to pre freeze.

Pumpkin Spice Latte Ice Cream
This flavorful nice cream is healthy enough for breakfast.

Green Tea Ice Cream
Give into the matcha madness with this antioxidant-rich, plant-based ice cream.

Kahlua Coffee Ice Cream
This lightly sweetened, rich dessert is all grown-up in more ways than one.

Peach Crisp Ice Cream
If you’re like me, and simply love crisp topping, then you have to make this no-bake recipe. The ice cream is rich with summer peaches and the topping adds sweet crunch throughout.
Amaretto Cherry Ice Cream
This is the “it” flavor for 2019, but there’s no need to shop for a pint when you can make it at home!

Pumpkin Cheesecake Ice Cream
Dairy-free cream cheese alternative makes this an even richer, creamier treat. If you want a more pumpkin forward option without cream cheese, then try this warmly spiced Pumpkin Pie Ice Cream. (Yes, we have two recipes!)

Maple Mocha Ice Cream
I believe this was my first ice cream recipe that I posted online. It’s just as scrumptious today as it was over a decade ago!

Carrot Cake Ice Cream
This contest-winning recipe is what triggered me to hire Sarah as our Associate Editor. The ice cream is divine, and Sarah is still with us, all these years later.
Grape Ice Cream
Ironically called “Purple Cow” ice cream, this light frozen dessert is made with just two ingredients, and neither of them is dairy. But you can use whatever dairy-free milk alternative you like – soy milk, cashew milk, or allergy-friendly pea milk all work great.

Bananas Foster Coconut Ice Cream
Unlike classic bananas foster, this flavor is infused with coconut. But it’s still topped with a sweet caramel sauce.

Black Raspberry Ice Cream
Whether you use black raspberries, red raspberries, or black berries, everyone will want a scoop of this fresh fruity flavor.

Pina Colada Ice Cream
This tropical creation is a churned imitation of that classic drink, right down to the blue agave for sweetening.

I have been lactose intolerant for many years. Trying to find a dairy free ice cream, in the grocery stores, was a challenge until recently. My friend purchased an Cuisinart ice cream machine so I decided to try it out too. While searching for “non-dairy” recipes, I ran across your website. Oh wow I’m so thrilled that I did!!!!!! Started off with the coffee flavor and today I made the cheesecake. It is amazing!!!! Thank you so much sharing all these fabulous recipes. Next will be the chocolate chip!
That’s wonderful! I’m so glad you are enjoying them 🙂
I absolutely love ice cream and have missed it so much since dairy started bothering me. I see so many here that I want to try! I just need to decide which to try first!
