Updated for 2025! Did you know there are almost as many brands of vegan “eggnog” on the market as dairy-filled ones? How cool is that?! In some natural food stores, dairy-free holiday beverages actually dominate the shelves. But have no fear, you can find many of these delights at conventional grocers, too. We have a quick list of the Best Dairy-Free Nog by Category, followed by tasting notes and details for all the Dairy-Free Holiday Beverages Available Now.

Dairy-Free Holiday Beverages & Vegan Eggnog Guide
Unfortunately for eggnog traditionalists and lactose intolerant dairy-free consumers who are not vegan, the market currently lacks “just” dairy-free eggnogs and holiday beverages. I haven’t found any as of yet, anyway. In other words, all of the dairy-free “eggnogs” are also egg-free and vegan. This doesn’t make them any less delicious, but it does put the following vegan eggnogs an extra degree of separation away from traditional eggnog.
Availability: Remember, these are all seasonal drinks. Some appear in fall, some literally pop up for a couple weeks in December. Get them while you can!
Spiked Nog: We now have a couple vegan nogs on this list that are made with whiskey or rum. But most of these dairy-free eggnogs are alcohol free. You can enjoy them as is, or serve with a splash of bourbon at holiday parties (over 21 drinkers only, of course!).
Allergen Notes: At the time of our review, all items listed below were dairy-free by ingredients. But ingredients are subject to change at any time, and all products are at some degree of risk for allergen cross contamination, whether they have a “may contain” statement or not. Always read the label before consuming any food, and make sure you are familiar with this may contain information. Contact the company to discuss protocols if you are concerned about potential cross contamination. Only you can decide what is safe for your needs.

Almond Breeze Almondmilk Nog
This time-tested brand has dabbled in other seasonal sips over the years, but their Almondmilk Nog is the one that returns year after year. Though it’s quite low in fat, it’s on the creamy side of vegan nog brands (not as creamy as real eggnog though) and has a nice flavor that’s like a slightly nutty, and less eggy, version of classic eggnog.

- Base: Almond Milk
- Top Allergens: Almonds
- Availability: U.S. (not sure on Canada)
- Likely to Find in: Safeway family of stores

They’re each made with almond milk and have a festively sweet taste.

Elmhurst Oat Nog
This was the first oatmilk nog to hit the market, but it isn’t purely oats. It’s blended with cashews for more creaminess. Like most vegan eggnog brands, it’s still on the thinner side, but it has a nice creamy mouthfeel and isn’t too sweet. It isn’t a wow, but has become popular over the years for its pleasant flavor.
- Packaging: Shelf-Stable
- Base: Oat Milk and Cashew Milk
- Top Allergens: Cashews
- Availability: U.S. (not sure on Canada)
- Likely to Find in: Whole Foods, Sprouts, World Market

Friendly Farms Non-Dairy Almond Nog
This is a fleeting “get it while you can” brand by ALDI. This store is notorious for specialty and seasonal items that appear for just a week or two. This one debuts and departs in December, so check the ads for it. It’s a great budget-friendly option that’s sold in larger cartons. It’s more of a nog-flavored almond milk that’s somewhat thin and drinkable, but most enjoyed the taste.
- Packaging: Refrigerated
- Base: Almond Milk
- Top Allergens: Almonds
- Availability: U.S.
- Likely to Find in: ALDI

Good & Gather Almond Nog
We love that Target’s newer vegan nog contains less ingredients (just 7 compared to 17 in the oat nog!), but this doesn’t seem to benefit the flavor. Turmeric is added for color, but it actually asserts itself in the taste creating a drink that tastes a little off when combined with the almond base and natural flavors. It’s fairly average in consistency for dairy-free holiday beverages – lightly creamy, but relatively thin, low-fat, and drinkable.
- Packaging: Refrigerated
- Base: Almond Milk
- Top Allergens: None
- Availability: U.S.
- Likely to Find in: Target
- Info: www.target.com

Good & Gather Oat Nog
Value shoppers will be happy to see the return of Target’s store brand, plant-based nog. It’s made with oatmilk under their Good & Gather line. But please note that we did not see a gluten-free confirmation on this product. This variety is a little thicker and richer than many other vegan brands, and has a milder flavor. It also froths well.
- Packaging: Refrigerated
- Base: Oat Milk
- Top Allergens: None
- Availability: U.S.
- Likely to Find in: Target
- Info: www.target.com

Harmless Harvest Organic Coconut Nog Smoothie
Pure coconut, coconut water, cinnamon, nutmeg, and nog flavors are blended together for this refreshing, high-end beverage. It’s sold in single serve and multi-serve bottles.

- Base: Coconut Milk

Malk Organic Holiday Nog
This creamy dairy-free beverage is made with filtered water, organic almonds, organic maple syrup, organic nutmeg extract, and Himalayan pink salt. That’s it! There are no additives or preservatives of any kind. Consequently, it tastes more like spiced maple almond milk than eggnog.
- Packaging: Refrigerated
- Base: Almond Milk
- Top Allergens: Almonds
- Availability: U.S.
- Likely to Find in: Sprouts, Whole Foods, Target
- Info: malkorganics.com

Misunderstood Oat Nog Liqueur
The Misunderstood Whiskey Co. was the first to release a ready-to-drink, dairy-free hard Oat Nog (14% ABV) in the U.S.. It’s vegan, nut-free, and made with gluten-free oats, but of course, you must be 21 or older to have a sip. This lightly creamy alcoholic blend is made with the brand’s Ginger Spiced Whiskey and Oat Milk. You can purchase it direct from their website, but they are planning to sell it through liquor stores, too.
- Packaging: Shelf-Stable
- Base: Oat Milk
- Top Allergens: Unconfirmed
- Availability: U.S.
- Likely to Find in: Total Wine & More, local / regional liquor stores, online via website below
- Info: misunderstoodwhiskey.com

Nutpods Holiday Nog & Gingerbread Latte Creamers
They’ve veered from their core unsweetened and sugar-free lines to create holiday creamers that are sweetened with cane sugar. These aren’t drinkable straight up, because they pack a bigger wallop of sugar, flavor, and creaminess than your average vegan nog. But they can turn coffee, tea, smoothies, ice cream, and more into a nog- or gingerbread-flavored creation.
- Packaging: Refrigerated and Shelf Stable
- Base: Almond Milk and Coconut Milk
- Top Allergens: Almonds
- Availability: U.S.
- Likely to Find in: Nog (Sprouts, Whole Foods, regional stores); Gingerbread (Sprouts, Walmart, Safeway family of stores, Kroger family of stores

Planet Oat Oat Nog
This light but sweet vegan nog boasts a gently spiced flavor and creamy consistency. It’s a little richer than their classic oatmilk and has a more festive taste. But it’s still fortified with calcium to meet some dietary needs.
- Packaging: Refrigerated
- Base: Oatmilk
- Top Allergens: None
- Availability: U.S.
- Likely to Find in: Kroger family of stores
- Info: planetoat.com

Silk Festive Nog
In Canada, Silk Nog is quite different. Instead of soy, they use coconut and oat milk to make their seasonal sip. It’s a trendier blend that’s enriched with a touch of coconut cream.
- Packaging: Shelf-Stable
- Base: Coconut Milk and Oat Milk
- Top Allergens: None (see this post on coconut vs tree nuts)
- Availability: Canada
- Likely to Find in: Metro, IGA, Save-on-Foods
- Info: www.silkcanada.ca

Silk Nog
Yes, it’s back! They have dabbled in other nog varieties, like almond nog and pumpkin spice nog. But Silk’s classic soy nog has stood the test of time. It was the first dairy-free eggnog to hit the mainstream, more than a decade ago, and is still quite popular. It comes the closest in consistency to light dairy-free eggnogs made with egg yolks, but is till a vegan nog.
- Packaging: Refrigerated
- Base: Soymilk
- Top Allergens: Soy
- Availability: U.S.
- Likely to Find in: Sprouts, Safeway family of stores, Kroger family of stores
- Info: silk.com

So Delicious Dairy Free Coconutmilk Holiday Nog
Perhaps the richest in the bunch, the So Delicious Nog received high marks from all of my tasting friends. It’s made with full-fat coconut milk, but is blended to be much lighter and lower in fat. It’s a bit like coquito in flavor, but still stands in nicely for eggnog. You might find it in the refrigerated section at some stores, but don’t be fooled. The packages will keep in your pantry until opened or expired.
- Packaging: Shelf Stable
- Base: Coconut Milk Beverage
- Top Allergens: None (see this post on coconut vs tree nuts)
- Availability: U.S. and Canada
- Likely to Find in: Sprouts, Target, Whole Foods, Safeway family of stores, Kroger family of stores

Trader Joe’s O’Nog Non-Dairy Oat Beverage
Over the years, Trader Joe’s has shifted from Almond Nog to Oat Nog, and seems to have gained more fans than they’ve lost. It’s nicely spiced, creamy enough to feel special, and does beckon to traditional eggnog, but with a thinner, dairy-free vibe.
- Packaging: Refrigerated
- Base: Oat Milk
- Top Allergens: None
- Availability: U.S.
- Likely to Find in: Trader Joe’s
- Info: www.traderjoes.com

Discontinued Dairy-Free Eggnogs & Holiday Beverages
Unfortunately, Milkadamia Veggnog & White Chocolate Peppermint Drinks, Good Karma Nog and Pumpkin Spice Nog, Natural by Nature Oat Nog, and Chobani Oat Nog will not be returning this year. It also looks like 365 (Whole Foods) has discontinued their store brand, for now. But let us know if you do spot the return of any dairy-free eggnog brands!
